CALIFORNIA LICENSE #135933
Mindy is the founder of Malama Family Counseling, Corp., a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). She is driven by her passion to see women’s needs met so we can pursue meaningful work, build thriving marriages and families, raise confident children, and weave this strength into the fabric of our communities. Respect and compassion infuse her approach. She takes pride in providing quality service to a limited number of clients.
Mindy has a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology as well as training in (i) Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), (ii) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (iii) Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and (iv) Positive Psychology. Her past professional experiences include working as a therapist in a non-profit agency, guiding others as a certified yoga instructor, building her immune system as a preschool aide, working as an environmental scientist, and briefly holding the title of Olympic alternate for the U.S. national judo team.
When she’s not working or with family and friends, you might find her throwing herself into a baking project, trail-running, hand-standing, or falling down rabbit holes of research in her field.
