Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy is generally appropriate when you feel “stuck” or that something is holding you back from functioning normally. Coaching is perfect for when you want to prepare proactively or optimize your functioning to build your most satisfying and fulfilling life.

Imagine a number line ranging from -10 to +10. The midpoint, 0, is neutral. On the left, -10 is the worst place you’ve ever been, full of struggle and pain. On the right, +10 is where you are thriving, living out of your full potential. Therapy is designed to get you up out of the negative numbers. Coaching is for when you’re ready to kick it up a notch!

Online. We are currently offering all our services via telehealth. As long as you’re a California resident, we can serve you! Napping (and crying) babies are welcome too, according to your needs.

$175 per 60-minute session. We love offering 60-minute sessions (as opposed to the industry standard of 45-50 minutes) because we believe there are significant benefits to fully utilizing the momentum we generate during each meeting. However, if you prefer a longer session, we are happy to work with you. Just let us know.

All major credit, debit, FSA, and HSA cards!

We are out-of-network with all insurance providers, meaning we can give you a “superbill” (an itemized receipt) upon request. You likely can submit this directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

If you aren’t sure your insurance accepts superbills, we recommend you contact your insurance company to learn more about your policy’s rates of reimbursement for out-of-network care. Some helpful questions to ask may include:

  • Do you reimburse for out-of-network mental health care?
  • If so, what percentage do you reimburse?
  • Is there a deductible I have to meet prior to receiving reimbursement?
  • Is there a limit per year on the number of sessions covered?
  • Is approval from my primary care physician required?

If you decide to utilize our services, you are entitled to request a “Good Faith Estimate” of the cost of services.

During your consultation session, we’ll discuss your goals and get to know each other. You can ask us any additional questions you have then. If we decide we’re a good fit, we’ll discuss logistics and set up our first meeting. If not, we can discuss referrals to other providers.

In your first session, we’ll get to know each other and work together to create a plan tailored to meet your specific goals and needs. You will always be in charge of how fast or slow we move and when you feel ready to move on. Through open and collaborative communication, we will ensure our services are tailored to your needs.

Unfortunately, we can’t give you a definite answer to this question. Many people begin to feel relief quickly, just by having a safe and compassionate confidante and guide. However, there is no standard timeframe for mental health treatment plans. Some people may reach their goals in just a few months whereas others may prefer to utilize services for multiple years in order to work through underlying wounds, patterns, and needs. What we can tell you is that from the start of our professional relationship, we are working toward the goal of you no longer needing us. We want to see you equipped and flourishing.
